Monday Made it!

YAY! I finally get to link up with Tara at  4th Grade Frolics for her Monday Made It! Linky Party.

I have been pinning many ideas and looking at all the fabulous creations everyone else has made along the way and just haven't been motivated myself to make anything. But finally...I did it!

The first thing I made is one of the most popular items I have seen lately...The Teacher Toolbox!

It was hard to decide what all I wanted to have each drawer for. :)

My teaching partner and I have decided to use The School Bell.Com to teach our sight words this year. They have 11 lists to teach the Dolch Sight words for first grade. We made each list a different color and put them into baggies because the kids can use them to play games and practice with partners. We wanted a good way to organize them and when we went shopping for the items for our Teacher Toolbox at Lowe's we found an amazing little organizer that was perfect!

Here is how it turned out:

The bottom pink card is eventually going to say "Pig Cards" for the cards they need to play the game Pig.

Each door opens and you see three separate slots. The baggies of cards are inside. I also put different stickers on the back of each set of cards so if one gets lost, I will know which baggie it came from. :)

This is a baggie of cards for list one.

My last project, was also found on Pinterest. I saw these little to do frames and had to make some of my own!

I plan to use these for reminders or to do lists in my classroom...I think they turned out really cute!

Please head over to 4th Grade Frolics and link up with any of your creations!!

Fabulous Find Friday!!

Well, I have been pinning like crazy and looking at everyone's wonderful creations they have already made this summer, as well as, watching people find amazing finds and I have done nothing for myself...until now!

I have found quite a few wonderful finds today so I am linking up with Fun in Room 4B to share with all of you these fabulous finds!

First of all, a couple friends of mine went to CATO and knew that I had been looking for something like this little baby. :-)

This is supposed to hold jewelry I believe, but it has 30 pockets on both sides and it will be perfect for me to have students keep their "Tiger Paws" in. These are tickets they get for our PBIS program.

Next, I went to Walmart and discovered their new aisle that has TONS of teacher items that all cost 88 CENTS!!!

Reward stickers, badges, birthday certificates and fantastic work certificates.

Color words, holographic borders (they had lots of colors), and primary lined dry-erase boards.

Addition and subtraction flash cards, calculator, and eraser tops.

Packages of 3 file folders each decorated differently (they are SO cute!)

My final find for today was also at Walmart. I have been looking for a way to post my daily objectives each day. I originally was planning on making the frames with the scrap book paper in them, but I have been eyeing those neon expo markers. So, I found this poster frame that already had black backing inside the frame.

I couldn't get a good pic of it without a glare :P

We have to post the daily objectives for reading and math using "I can" statements. These aren't probably the exact ones I will use, but I wanted to put something on there as an example. :~)

I hope that if you have any Fabulous Finds today you will link up!

I Love Shopping!

I have done some extra work this summer....I taught Summer School at the beginning of the summer and I have been tutoring a little girl that I work with throughout the year. Needless to say, I have been earning some extra money. My wonderful husband told me I could use it to purchase some of the items from my "What Are You In Love With?" list. So, I bought 2 of the items today and I am SO excited!!

First of all I finally purchased my Regal Reading Writing Center. I have been eyeing this baby on teachers' websites for years. Of course, there are much more deluxe models than the one I purchased. But this one has 2 magnetic dry erase boards, a big book ledge that holds markers, 4 removable tubs, a brake to lock it in place and attachable clips for a pocket chart or chart tablet.  It will definitely be an awesome addition to my room. And even better...I found it for a great price!  At Classroom Direct it was $179.97 (plus tax) with FREE shipping!!

My second item of purchase was a little unexpected. On the same list as above about my classroom loves, I had posted a picture of an ELMO document camera. However, I don't really have $400 to spend. But thanks to Jennifer at A Pirate's Life For Us for pointing me in the direction of the IPEVO document camera. Will work for just the purpose I'm looking for....show papers instead of making transparencies, show manipulatives, books, etc. without dragging out the overhead projector!! And best of all it is only $69 with FREE shipping!!  Thanks Jennifer!!

So, if you are looking to purchase either of these items for your classroom...these are the places to get the best deals! :)

Happy Shopping,

"What Are You In Love With?" Linky Party

Jennifer at First Grade Blue Skies is hosting a linky party about what we are in love with for our classroom this year.  I decided to join in and I'm kind of excited because this is the first time I have ever participated in a linky party!

First of all, I am definitely getting one of these this year! I have been eyeing these on teacher's websites for years now and I know it is time to finally purchase one of my own!

The Regal Reading Writing Center

Another item I keep eyeing, but I just can't afford to purchase yet is the Elmo document camera. I really want one of these for my room. I think it is so awesome to not have to use transparencies on the overhead and also that you can put manipulatives or a book under there so your whole class can see at once. Great invention! :)

I would really like to find a reasonably priced set of wicker furniture for my classroom. I would love to have a couch and a couple of chairs to set around the room. I think it would really make it feel more homey. :)

I have seen these little lanterns and I am trying to decide if I can find anywhere I can hang them in my classroom. I think they are so cute!

There are tons of things I would love to have for my classroom! My husband wonders how I can spend so much money on my job, but when school starts I know my classroom will be my home away from home and I want my kiddos to feel like they are at home too. :)

Join the linky party! I would love to see what the rest of you are in love with too!
